Art has always been important to me. For a long time it was my whole life: openings, museums, teaching, reading, researching, making. Now I have found meaning outside the artworld. I won’t say its been easy – it has been one of the most difficult and challenging periods of my life. But I would never go back. Art is something I still do, when I feel like it, when I enjoy it. Its not work and I am not trying to set the (art)world on fire. I just want to satisfy myself and enjoy the process of making – the way it used to be before I became obsessed with receiving recognition and acknowledgement.
This is what freedom tastes like!
